We love serving you, our neighbors and our Montreal community. Your health and safety, along with the wellbeing of our team, are of paramount importance to us. And so, in compliance with the provincial government’s official ordinance, our doors are temporarily closed. For starters, the Casino de Montreal will have opening and closing hours instead of being open 24/7. To allow for a “thorough disinfection,” the casino will be open every day from 9 am to 4 am. L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon is now open at the Casino de Montréal, the biggest casino in Canada. The kitchens operate under the direction of Stéphane Galibert, who is supported by a team that is as passionate and attentive to detail as he is. Similarly to several the other concept restaurants, the décor was designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon.

The Casino restaurant is in a very singular location on Île Notre-Dame, a natural oasis at the heart of an urban landscape. In summer, the restaurant terrace provides a breathtaking setting, while in winter, snowy landscapes deliver a completely different experience. Île Notre-Dame holds special meaning for Montrealers, as it was the home of the 1967 World’s Fair

After shutting down on March 13, for safety reasons regarding COVID-19, the Casino de Montreal will reopen to the public as of August 3.

Quebec’s biggest casino will tack on some pretty strict health precautions when its doors reopen.

For starters, the Casino de Montreal will have opening and closing hours instead of being open 24/7. To allow for a “thorough disinfection,” the casino will be open every day from 9 am to 4 am.

“Every effort has been made to ensure your safety and that of our employees,” says the casino’s website. “The protective and preventive measures that we’ve put in place are based on recommendations issued by the Direction de la santé publique du Québec and the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST).”

During operating hours, “strict sanitary measures” will be put in place including frequent cleaning and the mandatory use of masks for everyone entering the building. “You must wear a mask or face covering in our establishment,” states the Casino de Montreal website.

Guests will be able to obtain free masks at the door.

Only six sections of the casino will be open each of which will allow up to 250 people at a time.

All of the game’s chips will be disinfected once per day and protective barriers have been installed at various tables and food counters throughout the venue. Guests will also be required to wash their hands upon entering and at certain areas throughout the casino.

Slot machines are available in accordance with physical distancing standards and the number of tables and customers per table will be limited to respect the mandatory distance of two metres between each other. For all table games, players will not be able to touch any gaming equipment, including cards and chips.

Keno and poker games will remain closed for the time being.

“These preventive measures have been put in place for the sake of everyone’s health and safety,” says the website. “Ensuring that our casinos stay safe is a shared responsibility, and we thank you for your cooperation.”
