Lenovo T440p M.2 Slot Drivers
FRU Videos Detail.
- Ordering a T440p soon, but wanted to suss out what my options were for (bootable) m.2 SSDs. The maintenance manual doesn't specify what size the m.2 slots are, but the drawings seem to indicate that there are two sizes; presumably, one is 42mm and the other is 80mm?
- When you think of notebooks with two storage drives, you probably imagine a bulky 17-inch system you can barely carry. However, a number of lightweight laptops, including the 14-inch, 3.6-pound.
I have narrowed down my options to some options:

The XuBA Drive and Kingdian drives are £10 cheaper than the transcend, and all m.2 2242's with SATA 3 interface are more expensive than standard SSD's.I just want to check: A) will all three of these drives work, or will i face dificulties with them working?
and B) is thr transcend that much better than the cheaper ones? They are all low cost brands as far as U know?
Thanks very much.Hi everyone!
My son is upgrading his work laptop from a T440p to a T470 and is tossing the T440p to me, (see, if ya raise them right.... ).
I'm planning a few mods, (my son is a dev, but left the machine 'stock'), mainly the screen and touchpad. I also want to upgrade the drive to either a 128gb M.2 with a 1 TB drive for data in the main HDD slot, or 128 2.5 SSD and swap out the CD/DVD for a caddy to hold the 1 TB drive.
I've been looking at the specs and I can't find any information on the M.2 speeds for a SSD. Is it better to get a regular 2.5 SSD for this machine or will the M.2 provide faster throughput? Theoretically, the M.2 should be faster, but as I said, I can't find any details.
Thanks!
